Drawing is a means for paying close attention to the world around us. As the spaces and places surrounding Union Market undergo rapid physical change, new juxtapositions of shape, scale, texture, and color appear. Join us as we use simple drawing materials, line, and blank folded accordion books to meditatively examine those changing architectural juxtapositions, and the emotional responses they evoke. Participants may explore any part of the immediate surrounding area, and will reconvene at the end of the allotted time to share. No art experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Those who wish to may leave their books as part of a library of visual responses that will grow during the duration of Resource. Workshops will be facilitated by artists from the Washington Studio School.
