The Union Market District has a history rich and deep in commerce and community. With simple drawing and collage materials, join us to create expressive diptychs that explore dichotomies of a neighborhood undergoing rapid change. A diptych is a piece of art created in two parts that hang side by side. Through words, marks, and found collage materials we’ll use visual means to explore how these changes create juxtaposition, contrast, opportunity, and erasure, and examine the dualities of places and spaces in transition. No art experience is necessary, and all materials are provided. Workshops will be facilitated by artists from the Washington Studio School.
